Crochet For a Cause
I am so honored that Ashley from Edyth Blayn asked me to take part in her Crochet For a Cause initiative to donate hats and scarves to homeless shelters and other services that provide clothing and resources to their local community.
What I love about this initiative is that everyone can participate easily no matter where you are from! And you can donate to whichever cause is closest to your heart. I will be donating my hats to a local Women’s Shelter.
Every Monday of June through August two patterns (crochet hats and/or scarves) will be featured from different crochet designers. The PDFs to their patterns will be available for free download for the week! You can crochet one of each pattern featured all summer long, or you can make 100 of a specific pattern. It’s completely up to you how you want to participate! And the goal is by the end of summer you have several crochet hats and/or crochet scarves to donate to your local homeless shelter, hospital, cancer center, school, pregnancy resource center, etc of your choosing!
What to Expect?
All the patterns will be beginner-friendly to easy-intermediate in difficulty. The patterns will range in size and gender so you can get as creative as you want!
Please only use cotton and soft acrylic yarn when making your hats/scarves for donating (*avoid wool as it can be irritating).
Monday at midnight EST through Sunday evening, each pattern featured will be available for FREE download! The download will either be available directly from the designer’s site, or through Ravelry. >> If through Ravelry, please use the code CROCHETCAUSE
How it Works
See Infographic below!
Also look for this button within each pattern’s post to go back to the “home” post to get to the next free crochet hat or scarf (there will be 2 each week)!
Share the Love!
We would LOVE to see how your hats and scarves are coming along! If you have Instagram, make sure to use the hashtag #CrochetCause2020 and if you have Facebook, you can join my group Another Mum Fights the Dust Crochet Lovers Group and share pictures! And especially share at the end of Crochet for a Cause 2020 how many hats and scarves you made to donate!
Please Pin and share, so the word gets out and others may participate as well in being a blessing to others!
